The engine wants two different piles of spells at once, and keeping them straight is the whole puzzle. The cost reduction counts instants and sorceries you have already cast this turn: because this is a creature without flash, the stack has to be empty to cast it, so those cheap spells must have resolved and left before you commit. Front-load enough of them and the wizard lands for a fraction of its four blue. The attack trigger and the graveyard-recast clause read the graveyard directly instead: the trigger exiles, copies, and lets you recast a spell from the yard, while the recast asks you to exile four instant or sorcery cards as an additional cost. So it taxes both flows. It wants you to have burned spells earlier this turn for the discount, and it wants a graveyard deep enough to fuel the copy and pay for the return. Neither half works in a creature-heavy shell, and the recast is toothless when the yard runs dry. This is calibrated for a build that treats its graveyard as fuel and its board as an afterthought, the 4/4 attached almost incidentally. This is the rebalanced version, and notably it was buffed rather than nerfed: the digital-only tuning added a point of toughness to survive combat and stray pings. What survived is the shape of the idea: a wizard that is less a threat than a recursive spell-copying loop, priced against how many spells you can afford to spend before it ever swings.
