A 0/3 body for two mana is a stalling piece with a delayed second life built into it, and the venture trigger is the fuse. On entry it pushes you exactly one room deeper into a dungeon: a single, one-time nudge rather than an ongoing engine, which is what makes the +3/+0 and flying clause a real subgoal instead of incidental value. Venturing is cheap to start but expensive to finish, so one Gargoyle alone rarely completes anything; the payoff arrives when a deck treats dungeon completion as a plan and keeps advancing across multiple cards. Until then this is a durable early blocker, three toughness holding the ground while the rest of the venture package accrues rooms. It lacks defender, so even in its unflipped state it can swing for zero if a board state demands the poke, but the point is patience. Once you finish a dungeon the static bonus flips the whole equation at once: the same permanent that was buying turns becomes a 3/3 flier with no extra mana and no second card asked for, a defender that graduates into a clock the moment its long-term project pays off. The A- prefix marks the Alchemy-rebalanced version, tuned for the digital-only environment where its numbers were adjusted; the shape is identical on both. It is a mechanic-carrier first, keeping the venture count ticking, and a finisher second, and the transformation between those two roles is genuine rather than cosmetic.
